Description:
Caramel was rescued from a hoarding situation by the New Westminster City Shelter. They did not have the resources to care for her, and reached out to us. We were delighted to be able to find space for this sweet little mama-to-be who has been through so much.

Caramel is pregnant, and may be miscarrying. She has type B blood, which means her kittens will be at risk for neonatal isoerythrolysis (blood type mismatch where antibodies in mom's colostrum attack red blood cells in kittens during the first 24 hours after birth). We blood type every pregnant mama cat because if we know in advance this is a risk, we can save the affected kittens.
