PLEASE NOTE:
Pixie is a sensitive kitten and MAY have allergies to certain anesthesia protocols. Your vet can use different drugs to pre-medicate her if she needs surgery in the future.
If she needs liquid oral medications, we recommend mixing with a treat like Churu and letting her eat it, instead of giving directly with a syringe. You can also ask your vet if the medication comes in tablet or capsule format, as she does well with pills given in pill pockets and then rolled in her favorite treat. Please reach out to us if you are ever struggling to give a medication, as we can often give suggestions.
Stinkerbelle and Pixie are sensitive to changes, vet visits, etc. and will need to be taken together in one carrier any time one or both have to go somewhere, in order to reduce or eliminate post-visit misdirected stress responses. Please also ask your vet about giving gabapentin to both girls prior to any potentially stressful events.
If they do have a misdirected stress response to each other, it can take several days to resolve. During this time, positive reinforcement, snuggles of both girls, playtime and feeding together, tandem hoodie snuggles, etc. will be helpful. Please do not respond negatively to hissing/growling, as these reactions are based in stress and may worsen if additional stress is added by responding negatively.
